Never put alpaca wool products in the washing machine under any circumstances.
Let it soak in cold or lukewarm water with a little mild detergent or baby shampoo for 30-60 minutes. Don't even stir it.
Remove from the wash water and rinse in cold or lukewarm running water.
Then DO NOT unscrew it! What you can do is gently (Carefully!) squeeze out the water.
Place the garment between two towels and roll it up to squeeze out the water.
Air dry, flat, shaped. Do not place it in the immediate vicinity of a stove or radiator or in direct sunlight. It will take a while to dry, so be aware of this before washing.
Do not hang to dry!
